Cradle Mountain

On the weekend I went up to Cradle Mountain with an old friend of mine. It’s a really, really beautiful place, and this was the perfect time of year to go as there were hardly any tourists. We stayed in a cute little place called Tallow Wood Cottage.

When we woke up the next morning there were some expectant wildlife hoping for a free breakfast.

The ground was blanketed in frost.

We went for a walk around DoveLake. The water was crystal blue in the sun.

Cradle Mountain is named for the ‘cradle’ shape in between its peaks…

Even though there was still ice in the puddles, the sun warmed the air nicely.

I love these pandani palms, they are found only inTasmania.

Needless to say, I didn’t really want to come back to work on Monday morning!
